Lorne Hart

Obituary of Lorne Arthur Hart

Please share a memory of Lorne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Lorne announce his passing at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Doris (nee McKenna) for 55 years. Loving father of and Kim (Kevin) and Kirk (Lauren). Cherished grandfather of Tyler (Jaymi) and proud great grandfather of Callie. Survived by his brother Garry (late Kate). Predeceased by his brother Ralph (Marguerite) and by his parents Stewart and Mabel (nee Tompkins). Fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Marilyn Hawkins (Joe), Linda Clement (Bob), Elwin McKenna (Sharon) and Keith McKenna (Linda). Also missed by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Lorne was a kind, gentle, and adventurous soul who loved his family, friends, and pets. He was extremely creative and talented – especially when it came to music. He had a big personality, a booming voice, and the gentle heart of a child. He had a great sense of humour and always brought a smile to everyone’s face. He confronted his future without a blink and feared very little throughout his 78 years. He lived his life his way, without compromising his values and ethics. He never pretended to be anything else but Lorne, and that is why so many loved him. He will be missed by his family and the many friends that he made during his time here on this earth. We know that wherever he is right now, there is laughter, music, and a lot of crazy stories being told!

The family would like to send special thanks to Lorne’s nephew, Dr. Brian Hart, who’s loving support provided strength to the entire family in the past few months. Also to Rosemary Corrigan at KGH who went above and beyond in his final days.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date. For those desiring, memorial donations to a local Humane Society or animal rescue in Lorne’s name would be appreciated by the family. Please share your memories and condolences to the family through this memorial page.
