I am so grateful for the opportunity to have met and bonded with Maxwell over these past couple of years. His bravery in the face of such an overwhelming number of medical issues was inspiring. He always had a smile and an upbeat attitude. I am going to miss our chats and calls we use to have. I really appreciated his advice on renovations of my father's house and his praise of the finished product. I really regret that I didn't have the opportunity to visit him once more.

We have known and loved Max for over 20 years. Met him when he was a young boy and watched him grow into a wonderful man. We bonded over many things, including sports and humour. Max always made us feel that he cared for us and the feeling was very mutual. His health over the last few years proved to be a challenge, but he always tried to find humour in life. We will miss you so much Max and we will never forget you. Love! [Aunt] Jo and [Uncle] Brian Celentano

I was devastated to learn about Max's passing. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to care for Max on many occasions during his time spent in the Cardiac Sciences Units and then as he followed with the Cardiac Rhythm Device Clinic. As a nurse, there are some patients you just never forget, and you worry about after they have left your care. Max was absolutely one of those people for me. I believe there are people that we are meant to cross paths with in our lives, and Max was that for me. We grew close over the course of his stays. I know Max's path over the last 5 years was not an easy one. The only solace that can be offered is that he is now free from the unfortunate suffering he endured. Sending my deepest condolences to mom and family. I hope you are smiling down on us Max. I have not and will not ever forget you. Lots of love, Melanie
