Also survived by brother William Weekes (Mary), sisters Shirley Hagan (Don), Jean Abramowich (Larry) and brother-in-law Ross Tuck (Mary). Merrill is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Merrill was a World War II veteran, and spent much of his life with either a wrench or a steering wheel in his hands. Driving was a passion for him, whether it was his 1911 Model T Ford or a motor coach headed for Newfoundland. He was one of the founders of the Upper Canada Region of the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada and a long time member of The First Baptist Church in Kingston. Merrill was an avid collector and over the years established a fine stamp collection and a significant collection of antique clocks and cars.
Special thanks to all of the health care workers and staff at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, The Kingston General Hospital, Providence Care and Royale Place for supporting Merrill and giving him a good life in the last few years.
