Obituary of Michael Andrew Garrah

November 3, 1947 - August 15, 2022

 

Mike will be sadly missed by his beloved husband Terry Clark. Loving father of Jamie (mother Wendy); stepfather to Brittany (Paul) and Jonathon, and Papi to precious Quinn. Lovingly remembered by his mother Dorothy Garrah, predeceased by his father Clarence Garrah. Survived by his brothers Patrick (Weiwei) and Donald, his sisters Nancy and Kathy (late Rusty Martin), and by many nieces and nephews.

 

Michael received his formal education in Gananoque. He attended Queen's University at Kingston followed by a Masters of Education at the University of Manchester, England. His teaching career was spent at Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board. After retiring from teaching, Mike spent a number of years working with the Maltby Centre developing community to school programs for Autistic children.

 

We would like to thank the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital for the compassionate care provided by the staff for Michael. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Michael's Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, directing your donations to Autism Ontario and the Canadian Cancer Society in Michael's name would be appreciated.
