I was shocked to hear of Jerry's passing.
We have been friends for along time becoming new neighbours, living in Bath.
Jerry was the kinda of guy that would hear of a neighbour putting a shed up on this Saturday and he would be right there to help, with a whole new line of Jerry’s Jokes to rhyme off will you worked. He lent himself out over and over again. He would volunteer for everything, young boys groups, driving someone when they needed a ride, The Lions Club and the list goes on.
The memory that jumps out at me is I was having a dinner at my house and just can’t remember the occasion. Jerry, Jennifer and girls were there including my parents. I was having a huge ham for dinner and getting ready to start throwing on individual tv trays because the table was only for four. Jerry was excited for the ham. Well Jerry was in line going around the table filling up your plate quickly to get out to a free tv tray. Jerry stopped at the condiments and picked up the mustard in the egg cup. Jerry started spread mustard on his ham and My Father is saying hold it Jerry, I am showing him the tin and he says oh yea I love hot. We still watched in disbelief as he spread it on the rest of his ham then off he went to the living room and sit at one of the vacant tv trays. Well not much time passed before Jerry runs out to the kitchen clawing at his tongue because was so hot he swore he could shoot flames out of it I tell ya that it was not long after this happened that Jerry became a volunteer Firefighter.
Thank you Jerry for all your, help through the years. You will be missed. It is time for you to rest now Old friend

I can't believe this lovely man passed. He watched me grow up and has been my neighbor for over 20 years. He was my hero as a child and wrote into the school to get me an award. He was such a kind, generous, and compassionate man. Always was full of stories and would make you feel heard everytime you spoke to him. He was a crusader of Bath always seen giving joy everywhere he went. His soul and heart were so full of happiness and kindness for others, people could only dream to be like him in that way. I woke up every morning to a "Goodmorning Miss Cora" with his huge smile in place. He watched me grow into the person I am today and watched my daughter too until now. He was and is an amazing man that effected people everywhere he went. The whole community knew him and we all shared admiration and love for him. Him and his wife Jenny were a huge part of my childhood. I am in dispare for her and her family for the suden loss and share my deepest condolences.
May his memory live on, from his love for people, his community, and family let that forever continue on his story. He is gone, but not forgotten ❤️

Hello Jennifer and family.
Sorry for your loss. I have many memories of Jerry. He was a friend, great neighbour and a dedicated, father, husband. We cut wood together, drank coffee and took walks around the village. Although we moved from the strreet, I never forgot Jerry, and if I spoke to someone from Bath, I would ask, "do you know Jerry?", the response was always yes.
May your good memories bring you comfort in the lonely hours ahead.

We first knew Jerry when he arrived in our driveway after Tom's heart attack in 1989. He came with his saw & axe and chopped & piled our winter's wood. He spent his evenings and days off working on it until he had it done. He hardly knew us, and nobody asked him to do it, but he generously gave his time and energy because he saw that we were in need. This is the man he was - giving and kind.
We became friends, and over the years, we watched Jerry help out in many ways in our community and work to make Bath a better place to live.
Jerry always had a joke, a hug, a smile and a helping hand. He will be missed.

Back when we 1st moved to Purdy rd(124) Jerry was the 1st one in my driveway to welcome my wife and I to Purdy Rd. We were only there 3 years when circumstances changed and we moved back to North Bay. But in those 3 years he made me feel like we knew each other for 20 year. Everytime he passed he would stop " Hey Willie what are you and that lady that follows you around( my wife Cathy) doing today? Always had time for a"driveway chat"
One day I came out of my house and there is Jerry on his scooter guarding my driveway." OH Willie. I saw your car gone and shed open so I was going to wait til I saw you or the lady that follows you around come home"
Almost everyday since we moved away I would get a text with useless trivia or a joke from Jerry. I always tried to visit Jerry when visiting the area.I will miss our driveway chats. Condolences to all

Our hearts broke when we heard the sad news of Jerry’s passing. We “bookended” the street for many years and watched our kids and grandkids grow. He was Mr. Bath!!! Spoke with everyone, laughed with all who crossed his path. My strongest memory is how upset he was when he was singled out on Facebook as the guy who picked up the garbage all along his path. He was humble and had it removed. I still watch for him zooming down the street. Rest free Jerry from The Silmser’s

I have known Jerry Eicher for as long as I can remember. The Turcottes and the Eichers spent many wonderful times together as young families. Jerry was always caring and funny with an interesting story for every occasion.
As I grew up Jerry was a good friend and acted as Master of Ceremonies as my wedding in 2010. He was terrific with the crowd and made a wonder event even more special.
He will be missed and remembered fondly.

So sorry for your loss. Mrs. Eicher,Shannon, Megan and family. I have known you all as a little girl on Purdy Road. Your dad was such a kind man and always had a smile to welcome you. My dad Tom Jamieson sends his prayers during this tough time ahead. He had many great chats with Jerry. As Shannon said hoping my mom Debbie has welcomed him in the gates and showing him around and having some laughs. RIP Mr. Eicher, always in our thoughts and memories. xoxox

We have known this kind, gentle, humble man for 45 years. In his later years, restricted to a mobility scooter, he spent numerous hours ‘on the road’ (aka sidewalk) grabbing trash with his reaching stick. He was our ‘east end ambassador’; when he noticed a new family moving in, he made sure he stopped in to welcome them to our village.
A week ago today,he popped into our garage for his regular Saturday visit. He was very interested in signing the petition we have started for a SAFE crossing for all forms of pedestrians across highway 33 in Bath. It’s sad he will not be here to witness the results
Jerry’s lovely bride Jenny once babysat what seemed like everyone’s child in the Village. When ever we dropped our son off there, he was more excited to hang out with Jerry than the other kids attending day care. Jerry loved kids, lots of kids as he himself was a kid at heart.
The Village of Bath will miss you Jerry - you were one in a million ❤️ Rest in the peace you deserve, dear friend .

My heart goes out to Megan, Shannon and Mrs. Eicher. I've been best friends with Megan for nearly 40 years. I spent so many nights at her house growning up and Mr. Eicher was always so kind to me. He told great jokes and had funny stories to share. I still quote him saying "Oui, oui, mon ami, c'est la vie, jus de pomme" (which he claimed was the only French he could remember!).
He also made a beautiful clock with a poem inside as a gift to my parents for taking Megan on one of our many trips. They still have it on their mantel.
I'm grateful to him for being the father who raised my best friend. Megan is the most amazingfriend I could have ever asked for and that is due in part, no doubt, to him. Thank you Mr. Eicher for my girl and for all the laughs I had at your house. I hope you rest easy.
Hugs to the family and my sincere wishes you find some comfort and moments of happiness in your sorrow.
All my love,
Kate Berry
