Just learned of Richard's passing. We were best buds. Rick was "my catcher". We played in the All Ontario in 1970 (softball). I was Bestman at his wedding. He was tough as nails. Great fullback. Great athlete. Till we meet again mon amie.

I met Rick in Cochrane as his football coach in my first year of teaching in 1970. He was one "tough cookie" who earned the title of " tank Aubertin " Living in Kingston myself, I met Rick again many times after he moved here with his family. His love of drama and joyful personality earned him many sincere friends .I just read a tribute to Rick in the Cochrane Past and Present site posted by close friend Mark Rochon . That brought back many memories for me. I fished in that very spot that Mark posted of Rick and I remember many of his football teamates , Shock,Rochon,Cashback and others. I remember !

My deepest condolences to Rick's family. I was a co-worker of Rick and I know he will be deeply missed by everyone at Kingston Transit. Rick was a true professional and was respected by his fellow operators. I will miss his insightful conversations in the lunch room and our shuttle rides together to start our routes. Kingston Transit won't be the same without you Rick. RIP.

I knew Rick from the time we were very young. He was so nice and quiet he was easy to miss. When I walked passed their place, I could hear his mom (they lived next to the school) coaching him, giving him life advice in a severe sounding, but parenting way. She saved me from a couple of scuffles I couldn't always avoid on my way home.
When we were older, we seemed to have a little more in common. That's when I really got to know him better, in high school and in cadets.
As eucher partners, we couldn't be beat. It was as if we could read each others minds. He was always helpful and he sure could see the endgame before the rest of us when a bunch of us were going to do something juvenile. But that's what we were at the time.
When we visited recently, I was surprised that he had kept his approach to life in this. One of life's great guys.

Rick was one of my first friends in Cochrane. As part of the "Fearsome Foursome", we roamed as far and wide as we were allowed to go on our trikes. In High School, we re-connected on the football field, and with the annual school plays - anything to get out of class. He was a positive force, and a good friend. My thoughts and sympathies are with Rick's family. RIP, old friend.

He was one of the kindest men I’ve ever known. Always willing to help others and loved his family so much. I’ll never forget his patience with me when he was teaching me how to drive. I can backup the car now without hesitation, I’m sure he’d appreciate that. Thinking of all of you during this very difficult time. He was truly an amazing man and will be missed dearly.

Rick was a good friend and fellow employee of Kingston Transit. My daughters were always happy to see him as their driver when they boarded his coach as they did on a regular basis.
Condolences from my family and myself on this sad day.
He will always be missed by many.
P.S. I will always remember the many times he would pull up beside me in his Camaro, roll down the window and ask "you wanna race"?

Jamie, Lee and families, my heart is so sad to learn of your dads passing. He was an amazing man and will be remembered for his kindness, and love for his family. Any time I saw him he would proudly tell me about his grand babies. He was such a big part of Cor’s hockey years...always there to help, treating him like one of his own.
He will always be remembered with love.
