Obituary of Sandy Hager
It is with tremendous sadness, the family of Leslie William Alexander “Sandy” Hager announce his sudden and tragic passing on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the age of 68. Sandy will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend, Janean (nee Messenger), his devoted and beloved children, Jason Hager and Christine Hager-Gravel (Denis), his immensely adored grandsons, Julian and Vincent Gravel, his loving sisters, Lynn Strype (Doug), Wendy Maduri (Tony), Deb Baldwin and Kim French (Trevor), his brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert “Bob” Messenger (Irene Day) and Kathy Fearn (John) as well as many cherished nieces and nephews and their families. Sandy is predeceased by his parents, Keith and Muriel Hager, his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Jean Messenger and nephews, Todd Messenger and Christopher Maduri. Fondly remembered by the staff at IDA, his foster son Dan “Harry” Clement and many caring and helpful friends. We have been left THUNDERSTRUCK by the revelation that our dearest Sandy has left us so soon, so young and still as strong as an ox. We want to honour his legacy to his family and friends and attempt to share our WONDERMENT for our Husband, Dad and Grandfather. The family will receive friends at the Paul G. Payne Funeral Home (178 Main Street, Odessa, Ontario) on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. Words of remembrance will commence at 5 p.m. In memory of Sandy and in recognition of the loving care that Janean receives, donations to the John M. Parrott Centre (Lilac Knoll) would be greatly appreciated. Please share your memories and condolences to the family at www.paynefuneralhome.com
