Obituary of John Obress

It is with great sadness that John’s family announce his passing at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital in Napanee on Thursday, December 17, 2020, in his 79^th year. Beloved husband of Marie (nee Helstern) for 56 years and loving father of John Obress (Dianne) and Lynda Ashauer (Peter). Dear grandfather of Alison (Shane), Lindsay (Declan), Michael (Caitlin), Travis (Anjelica), Victoria, Jonathan (Cassidy) and James and great grandfather of Avery. Survived by his brothers Karl (Elaine), Michael (Brenda) and Daniel (Valerie).

 

Predeceased by his sister Amelia and by his parents Josefa and John Obress. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their families, and by his loving cousins in Cornwall. John was a proud member of  I.B.E.W. Local 115 for 55 years. He will be greatly missed.

 

A private family Funeral Service will be held at the Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa, ON K0H 2H0 (613-386-7373) on Monday, December 21, 2020. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Odessa. For those desiring, memorial donations to the L&A Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) would be appreciated by the family in recognition of the compassionate care John received.
