Whenever we visited Carmen, whether for a meal, coffee or just passing by, we always received a warm welcome. Usually, the next question was Carmen asking how you were doing or what was going on in your life. She was always supportive or had a suggestion that might help you out.
She loved to talk about her family and how proud she was of them.
There was always some good natured teasing about blue work and pink work, usually in response to Art's "that is pink work".
We'll miss you Carmen. Rest in peace.

To the Emery family:
Sincerest sympathies to all of you. Remember and cherish the good times - we know that there were lots. When we saw her she always had a smile on her face and was willing to talk about anything and everything especially her family. She will be missed.

Aunt Carm will always hold a special place in our hearts and memory as a loving, prayerful God-mother and Sister-in-Christ. Her Christian faith guarantees her a place in Heaven as a believer in Jesus Christ. We look forward seeing her again.
Our sincere condolences to Art, Susan, Kiera and Nancy and to Carmen's siblings who loved her dearly. May you all hold on to sweet memories of your time together. We pray for your peace and healing.

Linda and I were so sad to hear about the passing of Carmen. It was very unexpected to us. We were used to seeing Carmen working in the yard, raking the grass, feeding the birds, talking about her wonderful experiences in teaching young people or riding on the back of a motorcycle tightly clutching to her wonderful husband Art. She was a women who was small in stature but a giant in many other ways. Bill and Linda Newstead

My deepest condolences. Being a fairly new member to St. Peters church I didn't know Carmen as well as some of the other ladies who had been there longer. She was a great person who took me by the hand and welcomed me to the church and the ACW. I will not forget her. I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I first remember Carmen as one of the people to make my husband, Bruce, and I feel welcome at St. Peter's Church as newcomers . She seemed to enjoy so much being involved in anything she could.
My more recent memory is of an energetic little lady ( with the warmest smile) in my morning fitness classes giving her very best - as with everything she did.
She will be missed!
Go With God, Carmen.

I had many conversations with Carmen at St. Peter's. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and was always so happy when she spoke of them. I'm sure they will miss her loving presence.
Whenever she was asked to help with something, she was there to volunteer. She was a member and Past President of our ACW and liked to attend our annual meetings. Carmen and Art were a close couple, who gave a lot of their time and their talents to St. Peter's. She will be missed.
Our sincere condolences go out to Art and family. You will be in our prayers.

To Art and all your family. We were saddened by the news of Carmen’s passing but glad also to have enjoyed the pleasure of her friendship. You were always gracious, welcoming hosts for visits and dinner parties at your home. Such events filled with pleasant conversation, good cheer and lots of joyous laughter. Carmen loved good times but could be serious though always in a cheerful, caring manner and devoted to her faith.
We will miss her but have pleasant memories of such good times and know that she will be warmly remembered and kept in our thoughts and prayers.
Our sincere condolences to you Art and all your family.

To Art, Susan, Kiara, Nancy and family- she loved all of you so very much. My deepest sympathy at this difficult time.
I think the biggest lesson I learned from Carmen is how much encouragement and unconditional love can help someone see possibilities and lift them up. I am so grateful for her wisdom and friendship. I hope I am able to be that others. That's how I want to honour her memory.

We will always remember our dear friend Carmen. She would flash a smile that could warm your heart and then ask "How are you doing?" Her ability to ask a question already knowing the answer and make every effort to be non judgemental. She was a good person who will be forever missed by everyone who had the honour of knowing her. To her family we mourn your loss and wish her the peace she deserves.

Art, Susan, Kiara and Nancy, please accept our deepest sympathy.
Carmen was a treasure, a bigger than life, amazing individual, who contributed so much in her many circles of friendship, community interests, and education. She was a leader, supporter, and encourager who cared deeply about others.
Carmen was our friend; a long, long-time friend, and the mention of her name alone has provided us with so many memories of good times together - of smiles and laughter, of dinner parties and BBQ's where Carmen's vibrant personality and warmth always shone through - of enjoyable yet freezing times at Kingston's waterfront for New Year's Eve celebrations, and the more enjoyable (and warmer) New Year's Eve house gatherings - of summer gatherings and pleasant days at your magnificent home on Crow Lake or equally in the beautifully landscape at Miller Place - of dances through the years, including the one when Art was crowned King Arthur - of times with Carmen and of conversations when she voiced the great love and pride for her family, of Art, of her children, and her grandchildren.
Time spent with Carmen was always good time and we will miss her dearly.
Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless.

Art, Susan, Nancy and family: It was with sadness that we read about Carmen. We knew her best during the time we lived in Amherstview, many years ago. She was always a thoughtful friend. One memory of Carmen that I still appreciate was when she, with your help, set up an area in your home to look after some children who were at school during the time of a half day of classes. We were among those who were affected with Dale working and I was attending university. Teresa and Karen were in primary school. I was very concerned about how to care for them and still continue at university. Carmen's solution certainly was wonderful for us and I am sure many other families. She had activities planned for those afternoons as well as a lunch. Teresa and Karen knew Carmen very well, which made this a special arrangement. This memory is one of many that showed the kind of person Carmen was.
Please accept our condolences.

Carmen was an amazing advocate for children all of her career and within her family. She kept things "real", she was always able to lead not only her clients but her coworkers as well to see the positive and possible. I worked with Carmen for most of her years in education and respected her and valued her friendship. A special and rare human being.

Sincere condolences to Carmen’s family. As a parent and School Council Chairperson at Sharbot Lake High School while Carmen was on staff I had great appreciation for her caring assistance to my sons and all the students as well as the support she provided to the council. I also had the privilege to serve with her on the board of North Frontenac Community Services for several years.
