Obituary of Daniel "Eugene" Kidd

Gene passed away peacefully at Moira Place in Tweed on Sunday, September 24, 2023, in his 83rd year. Loving companion and best friend of Joan Storring (née Smith). Dear father of Vincent (Elizabeth), Terry, Patti and Julie. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jonathan (Charlotte) and Alexandria, and by Joan’s daughters Edith Sagriff (late Paul), Dianne Lynch (Eugene), Sherry McQuay, and their families. Predeceased by his parents Vincent and Mary Kidd, his brothers PJ (Ethel), Charlie (late Marjorie), Bernie (late Helen), Jim (late Patricia), Mike (Carol), and infant sister Monica. Also missed by his many nieces and nephews and their families, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and extended family members.

Gene retired from Sheffield Township Roads Department where he formed many friendships. He was proud to reside on the family homestead for most of his life and enjoyed his time outdoors. White Lake was also a special place for Gene where countless memories were made with family and friends. Rest in Peace Gene, you will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at Payne Funeral Home, 178 Main St., Odessa, Ontario K0H 2H0 (613-386-7373) on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption in Erinsville on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1:00 pm. Interment Assumption Cemetery.
